For ages now I’ve been wanting to host a Zoom for paid subscribers of The Ladybird Purse. I kept putting it off because, well, I didn’t love being on camera. And I was nervous no one would come and I would look a proper fool.
But early this year, I decided that I was going to push myself out of my comfort zone as much as possible. I’ve been doing more zooms, more podcast interviews, an Instagram Live, and practicing being on camera with these brilliant tips from Zoe Lea.
Also, I just finally thought… what’s the worst that could happen? No one signs up and I’m just sitting staring at my own face? At least it’s not the self-checkout
Also, I just heard Anne Lamott on a podcast saying “perfectionism is the tool of the oppressor” and took that as my cue to stop being a wuss and get on and announce the first…
Messy Money Meet-up (MMM)
Let’s take thirty (30) minutes to do some money admin. Together.
Been avoiding your bank statement?
Bills you haven’t wanted to look at?
Need to do an energy company comparison thing, but can never find the time? (Or, tbh, the inclination because it’s so very boring.)
Want to work out exactly how much you’re spending on streaming services? Or - eep - Substack subscriptions?
I should probably - heavy sigh - take a preliminary look at getting a Lasting Power of Attorney in place.
We’ll do it separately, together with maybe five minutes’ welcome at the start and five minutes’ celebrating our achievement at the end.
Absolutely no chance of finding a time that works for everyone, so I just had to pick one and I went for 10am this coming Tuesday because it’s the 1st July.
(Perhaps we can spend the first five minutes discussing how the eff it’s July already.)
(If anyone would like an evening or weekend session, that could be arranged, just let me know in the comments, DM or email me.)
As I said at the top, these sessions are for paid subscribers. A monthly subscription costs £7 or you could subscribe annual for £50.
And if you would like a paid subscription but can’t afford one right now, email me and I’ll sort you out. If you want to upgrade, come to the Messy Money Meet-up and then cancel, that’s fine with me.
(But obviously I’d prefer it if you’d stay subscribed, because I need money to live.)
You’ll find the Zoom link on the other side of the paywall.
Hope to see you there!
