What a feisty letter, Keris! ‘You can tell Terry what to do with her wedding dress’! Clearly knew her own mind. And very pragmatic about finances so, yes, relevant to The Ladybird Purse.

Thanks for featuring me in your Decades series as your ‘sixties’ contributor. It’s great that you’ve managed to cover the life decades right up to the nineties.

Happy new year to you and Noodles.

Terry was her lifelong best friend who died a year almost to the day before Mum. And Mum died end up having a church wedding but I don’t know if she wore Terry’s dress.

Thank you for you wonderful interview and all your comments and support. Very happy to have found you on here.

Happy New Year! 🥳

Ah, interesting. What a great friendship to last so long. Church weddings weren’t as outrageously expensive then as they tend to be now. I presume Terry was at the wedding!

Very happy to have met you here too, Keris!

If only more people took your mum's attitude here, I saw that an average wedding now costs around £25k. That's unbelievable, think what else could be done with that money, or how much debt could be avoided. I got married in church in 2021 and think our total budget was £3k - would rather have a holiday. Shows how romantic I am 🤣

It’s absolutely bananas how much people spend! Ours was super cheap too. Wish we’d spent a bit more tbh, but we didn’t have it at the time. And I’d still only be looking at your budget, certainly not five figures!

I was a destination wedding planner until Covid and was always cringing at how much money was spent! I personally preferred the registry office vibes but it has been my career so not complaining!
