That viral story has now rolled over to $24K, for which I’m extremely grateful.

Loved this interview Keris and I also enjoy Michelle’s newsletter. Alongside thar I’ve also been pondering the parallels with money/budgets and dieting… it’s fascinating!

Isn’t it! Have you read Reclaiming Body Trust? So many aha moments.

Yes! I’m a great fan of Dana & Hillary and actually ran a group centered around it two years ago. I’m thinking of offering one again.

It a fantastic book and resource.

Weirdly I was reading this on the same road I had a realisation that I won’t be rich. That I chose the carrer of a teacher and I live in the south of Spain with high unemployment and poor wages (but a wonderful lifestyle). I then had this sliding doors thought where I’d done a more money earning job and lived in Australia (I tried but never got the visa) and wore suits. 😆

Suits? In Australia? 😂 Sounds like you made the right choice.

I made so many mental notes while reading this. I love your book recommendations and what a great interview with Michelle. “Money is like a bad bad boyfriend”. I love how these stories make me contemplate my own relationship with money. Thank you both ✨❤️

I know when I'm down because I buy a lottery ticket.

That’s a very good point.

I’ve started getting the odd lottery ticket again so clearly I’m not over the fantasy of being rich at all. I do wonder if richness is like a mirage though, I think no one ever thinks they are. When I left home and moved in with my now husband when I was 22, we both worked full time for really small salaries with no real disposable income, but we were happy as larry. If you told 22yo me that 43yo me would live in a nice house with disposable income, I’d have called current me rich.

But now I’m 43 I realise my fantasy of what is rich is never checking prices and not having to make any choices based on cost, which is ridiculous because there would only be about 100 rich people in the world if that was true ☺️ (and i wouldn’t like it really - as i always say to the kids when we drive past roads of footballers mansions or similar in Cheshire, they have big fences and security services and the only way in or out is by car, and they won’t ever see their neighbours, which I’d HATE)

Oh it’s definitely true that even some of the super rich don’t feel rich enough. And I’m always seeing adverts like, for eg, Brad Pitt selling coffee, and saying HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED??

I loved this piece Keris! The idea of having plenty rather than rich is a good one. the interview with Michelle was a great one - money is like a bad boyfriend - always tempting you to make bad decisions.
