A while ago, a woman I follow on Instagram posted about pay transparency. She said it’s important, particularly for women, to be open about what they earn. I’d already sent her my usual interview questions, so I emailed again, mentioned the Insta post and said “So what do you earn?” She didn’t reply.¹
